Where do the sessions take place?
We come to you or your favorite spot for your photo session.  Photographing children playing in their
own home, backyard, at a playground or park keeps children most comfortable.  We focus on a laid
back setting and wait for natural looking shots.  Keep in mind that the lighting for outside shots is
normally best in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the bright mid-day sun.

How long is a session?
Generally a session runs from 1 to 2 hours, largely depending on the number of subjects involved, the
location, the number of outfit changes and breaks required.  We don’t want you to feel rushed so we do
not keep to a set time limit.

How many photos do you take?
We focus on the quality rather than the quantity of shots.  When you are dealing with a three year old
child or siblings, you really have to take multiple shots of one scene in order to get one great shot.  Our
philosophy is, the more photos we take, the more great shots you will have to choose from.  Typically,
we will take 75 to 200 shots in one session, depending on the number of subjects and their activity
level.  Some of the shots we take won’t even make it into your album – we will weed out the photos that
didn’t work before we create your gallery.  Your gallery will normally showcase 20-40 of the best shots.

Can you fix photographs?
We will make corrections in Photoshop® with the lighting, color or background.  We may also change
some shots to black & white or sepia tones to give you different styles to choose from.

What to wear?
Infant photos look best when the baby is wearing only a diaper, bare skin or plain white or pastel
colored clothing.  Family pictures look crisp when the family is wearing plain clothing or coordinating
outfits.  A nice look is wearing matching plain, timeless clothing like white shirts or plain polo shirts with
jeans or khaki’s.  The main idea is to keep the focus on the subjects instead of any stripes, busy
patterns or logos.

Do you have any special tips for infant sessions?
You should book your session at a time of day when your baby is usually content and fed.  Sleeping
babies make beautiful photos, so naptime is also a good time.  Plan to dress your infant in only a diaper
or plain, white or pastel clothing, free of busy patterns.  We want the focus to stay on the baby, not the
clothes.  For shots including the parents, try to have a plain white or black shirt on hand for some
special shots.

Can we change our outfits?
We have no limit to clothing changes so feel free to go with a few different looks or let your child dress
up in their ballet outfit or baseball uniform.  You may also want to  include your pet in some shots, too!

Can my session be rescheduled?
We know children can get sick and the weather does not always cooperate for planned outside shoots.
If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible.

How long do we need to wait to see the proofs?
We typically have your proofs available for viewing online within a week of your photo shoot.  You can
place your order right from your gallery.

Can anyone else see my online proofs?
Each album is password protected for privacy.  We will only give you the password and you may choose
to give it to family and friends who may want to view your gallery and order photos or photo gifts.

How long do we have to order our pictures?
Your photo album will remain online for at least 3 months.  If you would like us to keep it online longer,
just let us know.  We will retain a digital version of your photos for at least one year.
